BACKGROUND

P3KU was started by a group of parents in Subang Jaya to create public awareness & recognition on special needs children. They have a team of Working Committees comprising of registered members that are also parents of special needs children. They are united as they understand one.
To date, they have a total number of 45 members and of 48 special needs children. This number is growing with more enrolments of special needs children. Their disabilities are of Autism, Down Syndrome, ADHD, Slow Learner & other special needs category. Membership is opened to all parents or caregivers with special needs children irrespective of race, creed or religion. However, as per approves ROS constitution, only those residing in Selangor can apply to be our member.

To provide a training platform for special needs children future employment opportunity.


Aims

 To promote continuous and effective planning & training to benefit our special needs children, their parents and caregivers.
 To develop and lay the fundamental in creating independence skills, self-management & regaining their worthy.


Objectives

 To have a permanent resource centre for members' children to carry out our activities & trainings.
 To raise parents and the general public awareness and to encourage the observations of better understanding to the need and rights of children with disabilities.
 To actively seek funding necessary to operate our center and to someday acquire a property we can call our own for the accomplishment of our development vision.
 To liaise with government and other non-government organisations in securing better services for children with disabilities.
 To endlessly encourage parents to be more pro-active in caring for the needs of their children with special needs/disabilities.

Today, our center has an extended area that was renovated and made possible with the funds we gathered from fund raisings and donations from generous donors in past years. We are grateful for many, many whom had helped us along this 7 years journey. Now, the children have better space and amenities to use during their activities (fine motor skills, daily living skills, reading, music therapy, computer knowledges) and gatherings. And a good start to realize a better training ground for skills training and such.

For all of us in P3KU, we will continue to walk the path in finding donations/fund raising activities to generate income and maintain our association expenditure and activities. Moving forward, we have started our monthly last Sunday café operation at the center since April 2018. The café operation hours are from 8am to 12 noon. Local delicacies such as nasi lemak, fried noodles, kueh-kueh and Roti Kahwin + soft boiled eggs plus our special brew coffee and tea are in the menu. This café has provided the opportunity for our special needs children to socialize, learn and put into practice what they have learned thus far. We hope to get more support from the public on our new venture.

With these activities & aspirations, we hope that we could bring our association to greater heights and our very SPECIAL children would be able to learn & acquire the skills to better equip them for their later years
