SYNOPSIS

The use of underground space has undergone a tremendous development in the course of the last 50 years.  Are we learning to master the art or is it still a black hole where large sums of money disappear forever?  Under the motto “What we cannot see does not necessarily impact on our lives”, the average citizen cannot normally follow events below the surface, as opposed to buildings rising up through the skies which can be seen by all; everyone can join in the debate of “What could have been done better!” Working underground is not everyone’s choice but increasingly we are becoming ever more dependent on the invisible infrastructure such as ubiquitous Wi-Fi, instant satellite transmissions, underground transport systems, storage, utilities and recreation facilities. But are the real lessons learned being disseminated to the next generation? Dale Carnegie once said “The most important personal asset is the will to learn”.  IT is not everything, practical experience plays an important role.  Feedback is critical, everyone needs to contribute to improve the quality of life.  Asking the right questions is the key! But do you understand their language? What are the issue? Join in the lively debate from a different perspective.
