SYNOPSIS
Rawang Bypass is a 9-km federally-funded divided toll-free highway bypass in Rawang, featuring a 2.7-km elevated viaduct with the highest pillar of 58.2 m, the highest of its kind in Malaysia. Rawang Bypass, which was opened to traffic on 28 November 2017, was built to solve the traffic congestion in the town centre of Rawang by reducing the travelling time from 2 hours to only 30 minutes. One unique feature which eventually became amongst the major challenges in constructing Rawang Bypass is its construction along the border of the Selangor State Heritage Park, where the route cutting through Taman Warisan Negeri Selangor definitely offers a majestic view to the road users. With 6 years to complete the whole project with various unprecedented technical issues, a visit to Rawang Bypass is absolutely worthwhile for industry practitioners to shed light on the challenges and success stories behind its construction.
NOTE:
- The visit is strictly limited to 30 participants registered on a “first-come first-served” basis.
