SYNOPSIS Since the publication of the Third Edition, January 2017 of the Main Contracts for Civil Engineering and the Mechanical and Electrical in 2017, the IEM Subcommittee on Engineering Contracts embarked in First Edition, May 1990 (First Reprint Sept 1994) to re-write the IEM Sub-Contract. The IEM Subcommittee on Engineering Contracts mandate was to develop a new IEM Sub-Contract that will be in line with the 2017 edition of the Main Contracts. The IEM Sub-Contract underwent numerous drafts over 5 year’s period, culminating in the publication of the new IEM Sub-Contract in December 2017.
