The Project Management Technical Division (PMTD) of The Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (IEM) is now calling for participation in the following competitions for PROMAC 2026:
1. PMTD PROMAC 2026 ideation competition 2. PMTD Research Poster Competition 2026 3. PMTD Essay Competition 2026 4. PMTD Project Case Study Competition 2026.
All participants will be given an e-certificate. No fees required.

1. PMTD PROMAC 2026 ideation competition
The 2025 Project Management Technical Division (PMTD) of The Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (IEM) is NOW calling for participation in the PMTD PROMAC 2026 ideation competition.
All participants will be given an e-certificate. No fees required.
Special Awards to be announced during PROMAC 2026 held in Klang Valley

Theme: Strategic Visionary Concepts for PROMAC 2026
Who can participate? • Undergraduate students • Postgraduate students • Working professionals/researchers
What to submit? • Proposed theme and justification • Sub-themes with rationale • Proposed 1 day structured itinerary • Suggested keynote speakers and strategic partners • Target audience and expected impacts • National, ASEAN, or global positioning potential • One-page executive summary • Supporting literature review with reference for the justification of the above proposal
Poster Competition Evaluation Criteria • Strategic relevance • Originality and boldness • Feasibility and practicality • Industry and policy integration • Branding and internationalisation potential

The 2026 Project Management Technical Division (PMTD) of The Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (IEM) is NOW calling for participation in the PMTD Research Poster Competition.
All participants will be given an e-certificate. No fees required.
Special Awards to be announced during PROMAC 2026 held in Klang Valley
• GOLD • SILVER • BRONZE • BEST POSTER PRESENTER
Theme: Innovative Research for Sustainable Futures in Project Management and Beyond
Who can participate? • Undergraduate students • Postgraduate students • Working professionals/researchers
What to submit? • A-page virtual poster in English, pdf format and A1 size in potrait orientation with size not exceeding 25 MB • All files must be submitted as a PDF and named as Full Name (1 author)_Institution Name (i.e. Ali bin Abu_Universiti ABC) • A write up in DOC format between 2,000 and 2,400 words describing the poster • Poster must include IEM logo

PMTD Essay Competition 2026

Theme: My Journey in Project Management: From Learning to Leading

Who can participate? • Undergraduate students • Postgraduate students • Working professionals/researchers
What to submit? A write up in DOC format between 300 and 400 words describing about personal journeys in project management as a student, a researcher, or a professional by highlighting experiences, challenges, lessons learned, and how project management has shaped your perspective or career
All files must be submitted and named as Full Name_Institution Name (i.e. Ali bin Abu_Company ABC)

Theme: Managing Complexity: Lessons from Real Projects
Who can participate?
• Undergraduate students • Postgraduate students • Working professionals/researchers
What to submit? • A write up in DOC format between 2,000 and 2,400 words describing about the case study • Diagrams, charts, and visuals are encouraged to enhance clarity • All files must be submitted and named as Full Name (1 author)_Institution Name (i.e. Ali bin Abu_Company ABC)
