Dear Members,
Please be informed that this survey is a follow-up from the feedback received from the general members concerning the proposed amendments to the Registration of Engineers Act (REA) 1967 where a Townhall/Forum with the IEM President and the Executive Committee (Excomm) was held on 30 August 2024. The 3 issues of serious concern are listed as follows:
(i) the proposed reduction to IEM's representatives on the BEM Board from five (5) to three (3) (ii) the use of the title "Ir." for Professional Engineering Technologist (PET) and (iii) the proposed scope of responsibility between Professional Engineer (PE) and Professional Engineer with Practising Certificate (PEPC)
Your responses will be consolidated to reflect the collective position of IEM members and will support IEM's engagement and representation on matters affecting professional governance, accountability, and the standing of the profession.
