SYNOPSIS

Power is a critical commodity to a Data Center. From the every aspects of power (supply, availability, monitoring and management) is deemed essential for the operations of a Data Center. With the ever increasing importance of Cloud computing in today’s environment, Data centers play a key role in ensuring business and operational continuity for our daily life. This seminar talks about the 3 key aspect of power to a Data Center, from the critical power source, power availability implementation to the power monitoring and measuring for an effective operations of a Data Center.


SPEAKERS' PROFILE

1. Mr. Alex Foong Hon Keong

Mr. Foong Hon Keong (Alex) has been working in the engineering industry since year 1999 after graduating from University of Loughborough, UK in BEng (Hons) Electrical & Electronic Engineering. He been working in electronics, electrical and IT engineering industry with experience in R&D, operations as well as projects implementation. His experience in hardware, software and IT solutions it’s vital for his understanding to provide for a holistic integrated solutions to his clients. Mr. Alex Foong is currently the Country Specification Manager in Socomec for Malaysia.


2. Mr. Edward Ong

Mr Edward Ong has been in the UPS industrial for > 20 years and was employed in Socomec Critical Power Business Unit since 2011. He manages countries within Asia Pacific regions and takes care of the sales, pre-sales and UPS specification. Edward has also enhanced his expertise on Data Center Application and completed the DC PRO courses in both Data Center Power and Cooling Professional. Edward was graduated with Diploma in Computer and Electronic Engineering through Ngee Ann Polytechnic


3. Mr. Samuel Chua

With 12-years of profession in the industry with deep experience in sales and business development for the South-East Asia regions. He joined Socomec in 2022 to promote the adoption of Power Switching & Monitoring solution, and support stakeholders to achieve Power Availability and Sustainability. Samuel graduated in Nanyang Technology University with Bachelor in Electrical & Electronic Engineering.
