SYNOPSIS
Successful BIM implementation requires a good practice of management. The capability and competency of BIM managers thus plays a critical success factor. They need to manage various aspect of requirement specifically those related with digital data & information. In this presentation, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahmad Tarmizi bin Haron, will be sharing the common scope of BIM within the project by the Public Work Department of Malaysia (JKR). The scope later will be further discussed into the activities and deliverables that need to be managed effectively. Subsequently, the roles & responsibility of BIM managers will be attentively discussed. It covers both trade of responsibilities; management and technical. The “Do and Don’t” tips will also be included consecutively within the presentation.
SPEAKER'S PROFILE
Assoc. Prof. Dr Ahmad Tarmizi Haron
Assoc. Prof. Dr Ahmad Tarmizi Haron is a CIDB certified BIM Manager and Master Trainer. He has vast experience in education, consultancy and project implementation associated with BIM and Digital Construction. Among of the signature projects, he involved were BIM Implementation for MBKT Tower and Politeknik Bagan Datuk, CIDB BIM Apprenticeship Programme and MDEC-ICOE National BIM Technical Training.
Assoc. Prof. Dr Ahmad Tarmizi Haron holds a Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering (Construction Management) in 2003 and Master in Civil (Construction Management) in 2005 from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. He then pursued and obtained his PhD in Construction & Property Management in 2013 from The University of Salford specialising in Building Information Modelling. Currently he is the Senior Director of Innovation & Commercial Management Center under The Department of Research & Innovation at University Malaysia Pahang.
