SYNOPSIS
Since the withdrawal of BS 5400, Malaysia has developed the MS EN 1991-2 and 1992-2 and related NA. This course will provide background to the provisions in the NA to MS EN and explain how to apply them to bridge structures.
Others related Eurocodes are required in the bridge design, testing and construction will be discussed in the second part of the course. This will give a significant impact to the construction industries including but not limited to the contractors, material suppliers, testing lab facilities, equipment supplier etc.

Tzyy Wooi has more than 22 years’ experience in the design, construction and maintenance of bridgeworks, underground structures. He is responsible for the design and independent design check of many major road and rail bridges. He has designed some major long span stayed cable across other countries. He achieved BSc from UKM and MSc in Bridge Engineering from Surrey University. His experience includes both concrete and steel composite bridge design, including superstructure and substructure, permanent works, temporary works design, erection engineering and casting engineering.
He was being awarded “IEM Young Engineer Award 2009”. He was working in construction company and consulting companies before joining as a Director of H&T Consulting Engineers Sdn Bhd. He is in the working group member for WGD-21-2.
