SYNOPSIS

We are classify technologies into 5 platforms from Telecommunication, Office IT, IP Management, Online Meeting, collaboration and Training and Enterprise Security Platform. With current economy situation worldwide shaken by COVID- 19, businesses big and small are facing tremendous challenges for survival. Explore and adaptation of new ways of operating our businesses is necessity.

This talk will share with audience our experience and technologies needed to switch from old ways of using our business tools and infrastructure to more advanced and much less expensive one to invest and operate for immediate, short and long term survival of any business worldwide including Malaysia. Open source adoption in related to IT in office has been slow but has been gaining ground recently with success stories and users awareness in such deployment.

Today it is possible to apply a full open source application suite in office and remove software purchasing cost and yearly license renewal. Sharing of such experience in full adoption of open source and removal of proprietary components from office environment either immediately or gradually is a reality with further enhancement of applications used in typical office environment.
 
This talk will share user experience in such adoption and identify any pitfall in such a deployment.

BIODATA OF SPEAKER

L.C. Chen is presently the Managing Director of Sita Group of Companies, a company involved in providing SI and outsourcing services to major clients in Malaysia until year 2000. Since then, he has fully focused on awareness, promotion and deployment of open-source telecommunication technology called Asterisk and other platforms from the beginning. He has completed and launched an enterprise cloud platform called sitanetwork.com and a cloudpbx services overseas. After 5 years stink working in UK telecommunication R & D company called CASE.  He served NCR Malaysia, subsequently NCR APA and AT & T and lead in computerization of many banking and government sectors in computerization of many major corporates in Malaysia and within Asian region. Currently is focusing in providing open-source expertise and services in enterprise solutions development and development of cloud services for any corporation who are looking for such affordable services. He graduated from University of Reading, England, U.K. in 1976 with B. Sc.- in Mathematics & Computer Science. He is a Member/EXCO of MNCC, KLSCCCI, and FGBMF. Professional working experiences include working in NCR and AT & T locally and Asia-Pacific region. Promoting Open-Source Software and Hardware is one of his passion and business.
