Synopsis
Two bills were tabled in the parliament in November 2020, the first is to repeal the Factories and Machinery Act 1967 and as the same time a second bill to amend the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Act 1994. The first reading of these bills was passed in the said parliament session. When the FMA 1967 is repealed, all regulations under the said will cease as well. As some of these regulations are as old as the FMA 1967, these will likely need be updated and enhanced when these are made new regulations under the amended OSH.
