SYNOPSIS
The role of Biomedical Engineering Services is crucial to all healthcare facilities. The topic will link the Malaysian Standard MS 2058: Code of practice for good engineering maintenance management of active medical devices and other relevant local statutory acts and regulations to the provision of these services. The speaker will also share some existing initiatives already undertaken by various healthcare facilities.
BIODATA OF SPEAKER
MS. HASLIN ISMAIL
Haslin Ismail graduated in Biomedical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio in 1995 and obtained her Master of Science in Business Leadership from Northumbria University in 2009. She has more than 24 years of experience in Biomedical Engineering Management Services (BEMS) covering technical maintenance work, planning and design of healthcare facilities, planning and procurement of medical equipment, testing and commissioning of medical equipment as well as planning and implementing biomedical engineering policies, procedures and guidelines. Haslin also has over 19 years of experience in the management of Biomedical Engineering services including the development of new departments to support the BEMS operations, managing and monitoring of both operations and operational support for BEMS, acting as the BEMS liaisons personnel with Ministry of Health, and other customers of the BEMS services. She was appointed as a technical committee member for Sirim since 2008 and she serves as a technical committee member in the working group for Medical Device Authority to develop standards and guidance documents.
