SYNOPSIS
Engineers today are increasingly on demand to produce and deliver sustainable designs, products, infrastructure, and services. This begs the obvious questions: What is meant by sustainability and sustainable development, and what is the role of the engineer in this domain which increasingly pervades all facets of human endeavor: social, economy, and environment? This webinar aims to provide a better understanding on the importance of the strategic coupling approach of engineers + vast engineering domains with the elements of sustainability. The underlying principles of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) would be highlighted in this webinar as the core elements to integrate and advance the role of engineering that should transcend beyond ordinary solution providers but rather a responsible agent of change to make this world safer, resilient, and ultimately be sustainable to meet the needs of the present and future generations.
