OVERVIEW
This is an Introductory Course on Python programming language. Emphasis here is on the characteristics and functions of the language. Integrated development environment (IDE) software used to write scripts is not our focus. Initial sessions will be conducted on to avoid wasting time setting up a development environment. Subsequent sessions will be conducted on "Anaconda" software providing necessary tools https://anaconda.com/products/individual. Python3 version is chosen but other versions are accepted.
CLASS CONTENT
We will explore Branching and Looping in this session. Branching is valuable when tasks depend on some user input or some value that is not know when the program is written. Python has the ability to compare values and make decisions on which task to do depending on that comparison. Looping is best suited when actions are repetitive. These tasks are repeated for the data located in some sort of list or sequence. Python has built-support for lists and strings. We will explore how to manipulate both types of objects and discover what can be done with them.
