SYNOPSIS
As the national rail transport service provider, KTMB is well known for its train services and rolling stocks. Apart from the engineering related to the rolling stocks, the technicalities of the track that the rolling stock is riding on are also critical to the success of KTMB's rail services. For that reason, Track Engineering is one of the four core engineering disciplines within KTMB.
KTMB railway network is currently made up of approximately 2400 km "meter gauge" track length throughout Peninsular Malaysia. The responsibility of maintaining this huge infrastructure has been undertaken by KTMB for the past 135 years since its establishment. Of late, the highly laborious track maintenance task is made simpler with the use of modern mechanize machines.
IEM visit to KTMB’s Track Depot in Shah Alam is aimed at introducing the technologies that are available with our Track Engineering Department. The various track mechanize machines and their specific purpose i.e. track work, track condition monitoring and flaw detection, will be explained.
NOTE The visit is strictly limited to only thirty (30) participants registered and fully paid on a first-come, first-served basis Own transportation Strictly To Wear Face Mask & To Bring Hand Sanitizer
