SYNOPSIS

Nowadays, with the advancement of the technology, most of the process and activities has moved towards complete Automation. Real impact from the trend of IR4.0 will further change the way people work, response and adapt. Second wave on industry digitalization has shown the bigger scale of interconnection between human and machine.

Current scenario directly influences the criticality and important of Automation, Instrumentation & Control Professional engineers with practicing certificate to ensure the safety & Success of the nation towards modern society. This seminar will cover important aspect of process safety in industrial Control automation, Cybersecurity, Digitalization, Building Automation & Modern Process Control. These are important topics for Automation, Control & Instrumentation Professional Engineers deliver by Malaysia Control & Automation Alliance.  


SPEAKER & MODERATOR BIODATA

Ir. V.R.Harindran, C.Eng is currently the Head of Instrument & Control at the PETRONAS Refinery and Petrochemical Corporation (PRPC). He has 34 years of experience in the oil, gas and petrochemical industries, of which, the last 27 years were at PETRONAS. Prior to joining PRPC, he was the PETRONAS Group Technical Authority for Instrument & Control for 11 years. He holds a B.Sc in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, UK and M.Sc. in Technology Management, UK. He is a TUV certified Functional Safety Engineer. He is University Technology PETRONAS Adjunct Professor in the E&E Dept. He is also a Professional Engineer with Practicing Certificate with the BEM and a UK registered Chartered Engineer from the Institute of Measurement & Control. He is also the President of ISA, Malaysian Chapter.

Ir. Johnson Tan is currently the Head of Application and Technology unit; Digital Industries; Siemens Malaysia Sdn Bhd. driving new technologies and innovations as well as digitalization consulting services. He has more than 20 years of experiences in the field of instrumentation & controls, primarily in SCADA / DCS system design, programming, testing and commissioning, as well as project management works mainly in Water & Waste-Water Treatment plants, Facility Management Controls Systems in Semiconductor, Solar plants, District Cooling plants, OleoChemicals plants, Process Safety systems, Pharmaceutical plants, Petrochemicals as well as Oil & Gas.  Other key roles include, technical marketing, business development, team management as well as profit and loss responsibility. Ir. Johnson Tan is a certified Chartered Engineer (Engineering Council U.K), as well as Professional Engineer with Practicing Certificate (Board of Engineers Malaysia) in the discipline of Instrumentation and Controls.

Assoc. Prof. Dr Mohd Hezri Fazalul Rahiman is an Associate Professor from Universiti Teknologi MARA Shah Alam since 2013. In between 2010 and 2012, he undergone his practical training at Pejabat Pembangunan UiTM and Megajati Consult Sdn. Bhd. as an Electrical Engineer. He received his first bachelor’s degree from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia in 2000 with specialisation in Instrumentation and Control. Later he received his master’s degree in 2002 from the same university with specialisation in Process Tomography. In 2009, he received his Doctoral Degree with specialisation in System Identification. He is a Senior Member of IEEE and has been actively involved with IEEE Malaysia Section for 17 years. Currently he served as a Committee Member in the Control System Chapter. Under this chapter, he is an active committee member of several annually organised conferences such as CSPA, ICSGRC, ICSET, ICSPC and I2CACIS.

Mr Daren Tay is a Regional Technical Manager for Nozomi Networks Asia Pacific. In the past 8 years, he has been involved in various technology start-ups in the field of network security and has been directly involved in driving business growth and disseminating technology. Daren has engaged with clients in different industries and with a variety of users in different identities, from field personnel to decision-makers, and he has been working with organizations to address cybersecurity challenges-how to connect security to business. As a skilled technical expert, Daren works closely with organizations to address their cybersecurity challenges and needs. He understands the different business cultures and economic landscapes throughout the Asia-Pacific region.

Dr. Chua Wen-Shyan is currently the Head of Malaysian Smart Factory 4.0 (MSF 4.0) under the Selangor Human Resource Development Centre (SHRDC). He obtained his Ph.D. in Control Systems Engineering and B.Eng. in Mechatronics Engineering from Monash University Malaysia. His key area of expertise lies mainly in the area of Control and Automation Systems, Fault Detection and Identification (FDI), and Predictive Maintenance Strategies; which are widely used in Industry 4.0 applications. He is actively involved in the IET Control and Automation Technical Professional Network as a committee member and have organized various technical sessions for the community under the theme of control and automation for Industry 4.0. He is also an active member of the Industry Advisory Panel (IAP) of Monash University Malaysia in the Mechatronics Engineering Department.

Dato’ Ir. Wan Hassan has been in the oil and gas industry for more than 35 years by being in senior management team and technical authority prior to retirement from PETRONAS. He is now serving as a freelance Consultant. He served as Board Member and Vice-Chairman of an international oil and gas industry association namely POSC-Caesar Association (PCA) which office was in Norway from 2007 to 2011, actively promoted “Data Interoperability” and leading development and maintenance of ISO related Standards. Introduced concept of Integrated Operations (IO) to Malaysia Oil and Gas Industry. Dato’ Wan is a Chairman of Malaysia Section, Institute of Measurement and Control UK. A Chartered Engineer registered with Engineering Council United Kingdom and a Malaysian Professional Engineer with Practicing Certificate registered with Board of Engineers Malaysia.
