SYNOPSIS

It is imperative that the oil and gas industry embraces and accelerates digital transformation to stay relevant in the era of Industry Revolution 4.0. To many, digital transformation is a buzz word or a trend and one that brings many different definitions. This talk will share with audience what Digital Transformation means in the oil and gas industry in Malaysia? What are the key ingredients to make it work? What are some areas that are being tackled and the skill sets needed?

The second part of the talk will speak to the application of emerging DARQ technologies in oil and gas use cases. DARQ - Distributed ledger technology, AI, extended reality, and quantum computing is the next set of new technologies sparking a step change (letting energy companies reimagine the entire industry and their role in the world). Most energy companies are already experimenting with experimenting with one or more DARQ technologies – but even early pairings of DARQ technologies reveal remarkable combinatorial effects for Oil & Gas.  80% of downstream companies and 76% of upstream companies agree that the combination of all four DARQ technologies will bring extensive changes to their business This second section will explore how oil & gas companies are leveraging/applying these technologies to achieve a competitive edge in this post digital era.
