Bringing ASEAN’s engineering community together for 36 years

The Conference of the ASEAN Federation of Engineering Organisations (CAFEO) is back! This year, The Institution of Engineers, Singapore (IES) is honoured to host the 36th edition in Singapore.

CAFEO 36 will be an event with added significance, as it will coincide with Singapore’s Chairmanship of ASEAN. In light of the adoption of the Master Plan on ASEAN Connectivity 2025 by ASEAN leaders in September 2016, IES is aligning CAFEO 36 around two distinct themes – Engineering Rail Connectivity and Fostering Excellence in Engineering Education.

For the first time, IES is also joining forces with the SMRT Corporation and the Singapore University of Technology Design to organise two exciting and content-rich conferences – the Singapore Rail Technology Conference (SRTC) and the ASEAN Engineering Deans Summit (AEDS).

CAFEO 36 (12-14 November 2018, Sentosa, Singapore)

We are pleased to invite you to submit an abstract for the Singapore Rail Technology Conference and the ASEAN Engineering Deans Summit. Short abstracts (max one page) and CV of interested speakers (not more than 200 words) using Times New Roman font 11  and a recent photo are required by 30 April 2018 and can be emailed to aer@iem.org.my

Authors can opt to submit paper directly to CAFEO 36 organiser (IES) or IEM

Sponsorship of IEM

• Paper has not been published prior to the conference
• Paper be clear, concise and written in English. Accepted paper will be notified by email
• IEM sponsorship includes: Returned travel to Singapore and  shared accommodation with meals as provided by CAFEO 36

Direct submission to CAFEO 36 organiser – The Institution of Engineers, Singapore

• Author can opt to submit paper directly to IES. Such papers will not be sponsored by IEM

Conference Overview

In this year’s edition, CAFEO 36 is introducing the ‘Singapore Rail Technology Conference (SRTC)’, co-organised with SMRT Corporation, and the ‘ASEAN Engineering Deans Summit (AEDS)’, co-organised with the Singapore University of Technology Design.

Held over two days, the conferences will comprise of keynote, case study presentations and panel discussions with Q&A. The presentations will focus on lessons, challenges and opportunities in these fields.

Information and insights will be drawn primarily from local and international case studies with a focus on practical solutions.
