SYNOPSIS
Soil Waste & Vent (SWV) systems are critical systems which often are taken for granted. These systems will discharge the waste water to the various manholes and eventually to IWK. In this respect, Engineers must design the system in accordance to MS1402: Part1:2006 Code of Practice for Sanitary system in buildings. Joints are inevitable along the pipelines and the use of leak proof SWV fittings would be desirable. MS1402 specifies a discharge stack and vent pipe which are mounted adjacent to each other however both could be replace with a single pipe gadget. There will be emphasis on selecting the RIGHT type of Rainwater downpipe specifications because a single type cannot cater for the various applications especially when installed in super high rise buildings. This would reduce water leaking of the rainwater downpipes within the building.

Mr. Bas Nolta graduated in 1999 at the “InHolland” University of applied sciences and holds a bachelor degree in Industrial Engineering and Management. He started his carrier in the material handling industry as a technical sales engineer for an OEM machine manufacturer, holding functions in both the Netherlands and the USA where he gained a broad experience in the international business to business market.
Since then he moved to product management in plastic piping & sanitary industry with over 10 year of experience for Aliaxis. His main focus has been with specialist drainage systems that require specification and hydraulic calculations like Siphonic roof water drainage, acoustic DWV and high-rise DWV systems. Mr. Nolta has been involved with the business- and product development, product industrialisation, marketing and engineering software for the specialist drainage product lines, all driven by the voice-of-the-customer in a global territory.
As a product manager working for the research and innovation department, Mr. Nolta has been part of the steering committee to evaluate branch organisation information on the local Dutch market from UNETO-VNI, ISSO and TVVL. Internationally for the CIB062, dealing with Water Supply and Drainage for Buildings.
His experience base has meanwhile evolved to a global responsibility for the business development of High Rise Drainage Solutions within the Aliaxis group. Responsible to develop in the Aliaxis companies a complete drainage solution that includes the correct product portfolio and services for the growing high-rise building market.
