Synopsis

Every engineer must understand that we can prevent hearing damages, improve our assurance and create a general feeling of well-being in our workplaces. We ought to understand the OSHA act especially section 15 of our rights as well as those working under us. Currently we have various technologies that can detect the hearing ability and it has become mandatory that the test must be done for every employee who is exposed to noise pollution. In this seminar, the speaker will elaborate the following features.

• On- Site Mobile Truck Hearing Testing – fully equipped with state-of-the-art technologies.

Respirator Fit Test program was first initiated by Malaysia Petroleum Management, MPM, PETRONAS in collaboration with Petroleum Arrangement (PA) Contractors as a recommended practice for respirator fit test program for personnel working in upstream Oil & Gas Industry in Malaysia. This technology has been widely used in advanced countries and fulfills with the Occupational Safety and Health, OSHA (Use and Standard of Exposure of Chemicals Hazardous to Health) Regulation 2000.

As an engineer, it is our duty to know how much the technologies have evolved. This respirator fit test program is a new innovative technique. It uses the quantitative method compared to past qualitative practices. This technique is indeed hands on and user friendly for various categories. If you are working in construction, manufacturing, airports, trains, mining or foundries, in fact any engineering sector, you would want to attend this compact seminar.


Biodata of Speaker

Mr. K. Omantaram is an experienced consultant and trainer for Quality Management System ISO 9001:2000, Environmental Management System ISO 14001:2004, Occupational Safety and Health Management System OHSAS 18001:1999 and Integrated Management System (an Integration of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001). He had assisted many companies to establish management system. Qualified with Degree of Chemical Engineering in 1993 and Master of Science (IT) in 1999. He has had over 18 years of technical, managerial and training experiences across many industries such as electronic, electrical, spray painting, construction and parts assembly.

Mr. Mohd Rosdi is an experienced consultant and an expert in Environment, Safety, and Health & Industrial Hygiene monitoring equipment for nearly 15 Years. He has a Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Hons) UiTM, 2001. Currently he works as a consultant for Quest Technologies / 3M, Sensidyne Gilian air sampling pump, Photovac Inc., Ion Science, Crowcon gas detection & TSI. In addition, he is a speaker and competent person for industrial hygiene technician 1 (Chemical Exposure) for NIOSH Malaysia.  Besides that, he is a speaker for Noise Competency course MNE, for NIOSH Malaysia. He is also one of the speaker for IAQ competency course, Malaysian Industrial Hygiene Association (MIHA).

Mr. Mohd Rosdi  is a Certified TTT for NIOSH Malaysia and the only certified authorized manufacturing trainer in Malaysia for TSI PortaCount for Respiratory Fit Testing Program from USA.
