SYNOPSIS
This will be the third in the series of the Managing offshore oil and gas Brownfield projects talks by the presenter. Brownfield Projects offer different challenges from new Greenfield projects in terms of working in facilities with ongoing operations and complexities with offshore execution. This talk will cover Project Schedule Management, address brownfield schedule uncertainties as well as discuss case applications of work breakdown structure (WBS) scheduling techniques and contingency planning. The challenges involved in the schedule management of retrofit (Brownfield) projects is generally not fully understood which could be alleviated by application of project management tools and knowledge. The talk will focus more on practical experiences and will not cover scheduling software and programs.
The presentation will illustrate the speaker’s project experiences including the theoretical aspects as well as practical considerations. Retna will also highlight processes and methods for improving schedule management and control of Brownfield projects including generic case examples. The target audience includes oil and gas professionals who wish to understand and learn more on Project Schedule Management with focus on managing offshore Brownfield projects. These principles could be similarly applied in retrofit projects in other sectors.
