SYNOPSIS

In the engineering project, there are many parties involved, involving initiation, planning, organizing, scheduling, executing, monitoring and control.  The client will want the job to be done expeditiously, economically and successfully, the consultants will have to translate the needs of the client and produce calculations, drawings specifications and documentation, the contractor will implement the works in accordance to the contract, within the scope stipulated, shortest time and lowest cost possible and quality desired whilst the authorities gives its fullest cooperation.

Project Integration exist within the occasion, processes, systems, elements, & equipment. Integration can also be defined as a dimension between two firms or organizations that can mutually influence each other. Regarding the construction projects, Integration would be appeared between different Contractors, Owner & Contractors, Engineering team & Contractors, Contractors & Sub-Contractors, Contractors & Manufacturers, & within different disciplines (e.g. electrical, mechanical, civil, instrumentation, process, etc.). Use of integration concept in the context of project management followed the development of a system approach, which defines organizations as systems of mutually dependent variables. Thus, projects are made of sub-projects whose Integration are necessary to determine if integration can be achieved.

There after we have the project scope & time management to define, control and manage. Without the scope clearly defined and understand explicitly by all stake holders, project will start at wrong footing and affect everything further down the line-like a time bomb to be exploded. It create misunderstanding, argument, cost incur and possible legal dispute that will jeopardize the whole project. The time is running and wait for no one. We cannot stop it but manage it well. Thus, a good project manager with multitasking need to comb and clear out all these mine filed. We have this theory written in the book but the application of it need wisdom, experience and courage.

It will be discussed and interacted during this session.
At the end of the session, hopefully, participants will able to appreciate the need and importance of project management.
