SYNOPSIS
Environmental engineering has been facing tremendous encounters for centuries in sustaining our earth. Sustainable development for many eyes are just a myth. How can one develop without depleting the environment? At a glance, this could be true. However we need to manage it. That would be the environmental engineering challenges. Environmental is a stand-alone word but it comprises many disciplines. To name some at macro levels are town planning, architectural, transportation, pollution control and materials of science. Here in this pre AGM talk the speaker shall cover the environmental challenges, some of the government initiatives and global movements in the sustainable development.
BIODATA OF SPEAKER
Santha Kumaran Erusan ia a Fellow in The Institution of Engineers, Malaysia and have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. He is also a master degree holder in Business Administration from University Technology of Malaysia. Having experiences over 23 years in the management, design and lead the engineering team for building and infrastructure services for various sectors such as hotels, hospitals, railways, ports, transportation and health complexes in Malaysia as well as overseas projects. He has presented many papers in various conferences on sustainable development. Currently he is working with SMEC, a member of the Surbana Jurong Group.
