SYNOPSIS
Turbomachinery is defined as a turbine driven package, which is designed to drive either a mechanical equipment or a generator to generate electric power. The utilization of the equipment has become increasingly important especially in Malaysia Oil and Gas Industry, ranging from upstream application to downstream application, including petrochemicals, utilities and Processing Plants. Apart from that, the power generation is also used in power plant and cogen plant.
This course is designed to give a glimpse about turbomachinery equipment and create awareness about the functionality of the machine. It is suitable for young engineer who intend to gain an overview on the turbomachinery equipment, and most importantly, to be able to chart their career path based surrounding the turbomachinery equipment. Specific attention is given towards gas turbine and centrifugal compressors as the case study for the course.
BENEFITS
- Understand the type and industry application for turbomachinery equipment - Understand the main components of turbomachinery and its auxiliaries system - Able to appreciate the characteristic and functionality of turbomachinery equipment - Able to understand the key consideration taken for turbomachinery selection - Understand the basic life cycle cost for the turbomachinery equipment - Oversight on potential career path in turbomachinery/rotating equipment
WHO COULD BENEFIT FROM THE COURSE?
Mechanical Engineers especially those who involved directly with turbomachinery/rotating equipment, Project Engineers, Maintenance Engineers, Planners, Construction Engineers, Procurement/Contract Engineers; all staff who need basic knowledge on turbomachinery equipment.
