SYNOPSIS
The objective of the River Cleaning is to clean and improve the water quality of 110km along the Klang and Gombak River from its current Class III – Class V water quality (not suitable for body-contact) to Class lib (suitable for body-contact recreational usage) by year 2020. towards ths goal, Jabatan Pengairan dan Saliran Malaysia leads 26 government agencies and departments across 4 Ministries (Ministry of Federal Territory & Urban Well-being, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Ministry of Housing and Local Government). 2 states (Selangor and Federal Territory) and 3 municipalities (Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL), Majlis Perbandaran Selayang (MPS) and Majlis Perbandaran Ampang Jaya (MPAJ) are collaborating to execute 12 Key initiatives identifies during the Greater KL/KV NKEA lab.
