SYNOPSIS
This will be a firsthand readout of project managing a comprehensive cellular telecommunications network swap. Swap projects provide different challenges from new Greenfield projects in terms of working with live cellular networks rather than implementing new greenfield networks or individual site additions to existing networks. This talk will cover Project scoping and the complexities added to projects through expanding scope during the project execution stage. The challenges involved in cost management associated with scope creep is not always fully understood and could be alleviated through project management planning knowledge.
The presentation will illustrate the speaker’s project experiences including the practical considerations and importance of proper scope and cost management. Additionally, this keynote will highlight the importance of ensuring proper project planning prior to execution as a key principle to cost management. The target audience includes cellular communications project engineers and managers. The principles presented can easily be adapted across industries and apply to a multitude of project deliveries.
