Synopsis of Kualiti Alam Plant in Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan
Kualiti Alam (KA) is the 1st Integrated Waste Management Centre in Malaysia and it has been entrusted by the Government of Malaysia to undertake the Privatisation of Malaysia’s 1st Integrated Hazardous Waste Management System on 18th December 1995. To meet this requirements, KA’s Bukit Nanas, Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan, Waste Management Centre (WMC) commenced full operations in 2000 to provide complete management of hazardous waste from “cradle to grave”, commencing from collection of waste at the premises of waste generators, transportation, treatment, to final disposal. The WMC is equipped with 4 main facilities with the capacity and capability to store, treat and dispose more than 100,000 tonnes of all classes of hazardous waste types (liquid and solid) annually. KA facilities at the WMC are designed and managed to meet stringent international standards. KA plant is fully licensed by Atomic Energy Licensing Board (AELB) of Malaysia to treat Technologically Enhanced Naturally Occurring Radioactive Material. (TENORM). KA services prevent indiscriminate dumping of toxic waste and help industries to manage their hazardous waste in an environmentally responsible manner. KA has four certifications namely OHSAS 18001, ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 14001-2004 and ISO 9001:2000.
