SYNOPSIS

The Klang Valley Mass Rapid Transit Project involves the construction of a railway network which will form the backbone of the Klang Valley’s public transport system. Maluri Station is one of the seven underground stations on its Sungai Buloh – Kajang (SBK) Line. Maluri Station is located within high density residential and commercial zone and the capacity to move large volumes of people to satisfy the demand trips on the SBK line and form an integrated connection with the pre-existing Ampang LRT Line. Every construction stage in the underground station faced its own unique challenges, dictated by project specific purposes and diverse stakeholder expectation, in addition to technical challenges and complexities related to ground geological conditions.

With the exposure of previous technical visit for pipe jacking works at Maluri Station, Tunnelling and Underground Space Technical Division (TUSTD) witness the pipe roofing installation works using the Herrenknecht Machines.

This talk will follow up from the previous site visit mentioned above. In this talk, Alan will also outline some of understanding and the design flow for the support pipe jacking systems at Maluri station. In this talk, the recent update for the pipe jacking works will also be included.
