SYNOPSIS
The Energy Commission (EC) headquarters building, the Diamond Building, is located at Precinct 2, Putrajaya, Malaysia. The building is designed to showcase technologies that will reduce building energy consumption and potable water usage, promote the use of sustainable building material and provide enhanced indoor environmental quality. The holistic approach for the building envelope, atrium design, mechanical and electrical systems, daylight system, landscaping and material selection enables the design of an environmentally sustainable building.
This technical visit will provide invaluable exposure to the various green technologies incorporated in the Diamond Building: • Building Integrated Photovoltaic (PV) • Glass Dome and Shutter • Rainwater Harvesting • Roof Light Trough • Greeneries on the Roof • Insulated Concrete Roof • Roof/ Floor Slab Cooling
Emphasis would also be placed on how the aforementioned green technologies enhances the environmental sustainability of the building
