SYNOPSIS

As a responsible human, we realize that energy cost represent a significant portion of network cost for telecom operators. As top line growth has reduced, an increased focus is being put on reducing cost. Through modernization of equipment and consolidation of power systems and deployment of innovative energy solutions allows sites to operate at higher temperatures thus improve energy efficiency and proactively reduce carbon footprint towards achieving a sustainable future.

In many countries where grid-tied power outages are a common occurrence, there is a need for innovative energy solutions provide energy supply reliability and security. To offset the negative effect of diesel systems and fossil fueled grid power, while providing substantial alternative energy solutions to telecommunications operators.

Now the total cost of ownership (TCO) approach is key to ensure comprehensive method to evaluate different components while designing an energy system for a particular site. This in turn will help to reduce the carbon emission and energy cost towards achieving a sustainable future, while increasing the network up-time and decreasing exposure to down-time. Will discuss also the basics calculation of energy systems and also the TCO energy project in telecom tower and managing energy operational at six (6) Asia countries.  


BIODATA OF SPEAKER

Ir. Noor Iziddin Abdullah Bin Hj Ghazali, PMP®, MIEM, P.Eng, REEM, has twelve (12) years of working experience. in various roles as a Project Management Consultant involved in property, construction, ICT/data center & telecommunication industry.

Initially attach to Mesiniaga as a Project Manager, then as Project Management Consultant (PMC) team in KLCC Property Berhad seconded to Putrajaya Holdings (PJH) in Electrical for green building project value more than USD 200 million. Then as Group Electrical Manager at Sunway Property overseeing the whole electrical services for all commercial, residential & hospitality projects value more than USD 300 million. Now at edotco Group (wholly owned by Axiata Group Berhad) as Regional Head of Electrical System report to Director of Operation overseeing energy savings budget CAPEX & OPEX more than USD 100 million at six (6) Asia countries.

I received my B.Eng in Electrical & Electronic from UNITEN in 2004, Master of Engineering from UM in 2009 and Postgraduate Diploma in Islamic Studies from IIUM/UIA in 2010 beside PMP in 2008 and  Electrical Energy Manager from Energy Commission in 2014. Recently just complete Telecom Mini MBA.
My involvement with IEM started as a committee of Graduate & Student Section (Young Engineer Section) from 2005 to 2007 and continues his contribution as the Secretary & Treasurer of Project Management Technical Division (PMTD), Council Member of IEM and also with Project Management Institute Malaysia Chapter (PMIMY) as Director of Professional Development from 2011 to 2014.

Currently as the Industry Advisory Panel (IAP) for: -
1. Degree in Project Management at University Malaysia Pahang (UMP) from 2011.
2. Master of Science in Project Management at University Utara Malaysia (UUM) from 2013
3. Master of Project Management at University Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) from 2014  &
4. Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering at University Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) from 2014.
