SYNOPSIS

LED lighting is already in use in an astonishing array of location and application. Color changing LED lighting is now used to illuminate architectural building and architectural landmarks. Fixed color and white LED is widely used for both the indoor and outdoor applications. This includes airport lighting, office, hotel, hospital, residential, road tunnel, sport, pathway, signage and landscape lighting. Practically, in all areas of application. The benefits of LED has surpassed the existing lighting system and infrastructures. The efficiency of LED lighting is now extensively surpasses of the conventional incandescent, compact fluorescent (CFL) and to some extend the high intensity discharge lamp (HID) in terms of efficiency, quality, cost effectiveness and environmental friendliness. Well-designed LED light fixtures offer many features performance and economy superior to conventional lighting fixture. The speaker shall explain their wide application in architectural lighting. He shall also elaborate the cost comparison between the conventional light and the LED light source and the understanding of the various type of installation from simple to complex solution and demonstrate live demonstration of some latest development of the LED fixture for specific application.


BIODATA OF SPEAKER

Mr. Lee Hing, born in 1956, graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Electrical and Electronics in year 1980 from Portsmouth University, UK. He is a qualified lighting designer with nearly 30 years in the lighting industry.  He started his lighting career in Philips Lighting Malaysia way back in 1981. Mr. Lee spent his earlier career as a Lighting Designer and move up the ladder as Project Manager which involves site supervision and project management. The work involved him to go to site to resolve lighting issues and site problems.  He attended many professional lighting seminars and courses overseas for many specified areas. This includes façade lighting, indoor lighting, sport lighting, commercial lighting, road and outdoor lighting.  Mr. Lee established his own design practice Lumino Design Consultants Sdn Bhd more than 20 years ago. The scope of the lighting design, planning, documentation and implementation covers a wide range, such as residential, commercial such as hotels, resort, cultural centre, convention centre, office and condominiums.
