SYNOPSIS

This presentation on “Fundamentals to Process Stability” is a continuation topic from “Introduction to Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma” that was presented by the speaker during National Engineers Week in 2010. However participants who are joining for the first time will be able to grasp the key points in this presentation easily as it will be presented in mixed presentation modes of slides and video.

In improving profitability and winning the market competition, all companies need to master the basic of process management in optimizing the operations efficiency. At the heart of efficient and profitable operations are continuous effort in elimination of Wastes, process inconsistency (variation), resources overburden (strain) and reducing efficiency loss from equipment.

The presentation will elaborate some key concepts on “4M control”, “Kaizen” Principles, balancing process versus results thinking, Seven Wastes on operations, Visual Management, Seven types of Major Machine Losses, Standard work design and statistical process control.

It is the aim of the presentation that the audience will understand the main focus of activities in achieving consistent results out of processes and will help the audience realize the importance of putting continuous effort on achieving process stability.
                                                                            
BIODATA OF SPEAKER

JAMILAH HARON has over 20 years’ experience in business process improvement in multiple industries, ranging from high volume manufacturing to transactional and services process improvement. Her expertises in business process improvement are accumulated from three giant multinationals - Sony, GE Aviation and Johnson Controls Automotive. In recent years, as Head of Transformation and Quality, she has contributed in developing AmBank Malaysia to be the first local bank to have process improvement program utilizing Lean Six Sigma.

Her main area of expertise is in process improvement that generates cost savings and potential revenue through waste elimination and process simplification utilizing Kaizen, Lean, and Six Sigma methodologies.

Jamilah is a certified GE Six Sigma Black Belt, member of Institute of Industrial Engineers and Malaysian Board of Engineers. In field of coaching, Jamilah is a Certified NLP Practitioner. She holds an MSc in Industrial and Technology Management from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, and a BSc (Honours) in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University, USA.
