SYNOPSIS
Spirit AeroSystems Malaysia Sdn Bhd is based on a 75-acre site adjacent to the runway at Subang Airport near Kuala Lumpur. The 242,000-square-foot facility was announced in 2007 and became operational early in 2009. The facility acts as a hub in the Asia-Pacific region to strengthen existing supplier relationships while also developing the global manufacturing capability for Spirit. The facility is aligned to provide a variety of manufacturing, engineering, and support functions. Initial products include a number of composite subassemblies, principally on Airbus single-aisle aircraft. The operation also is providing design support for the A350 XWB leading edge lower panels. Spirit AeroSystems Malaysia Sdn Bhd will occupy a central role in the development of the Malaysian aerospace industry as a whole, and is strategically located at the centre of the Malaysia International Aerospace Centre (MIAC) and adjacent to the runway for Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang
