SYNOPSIS

TNB ICT Network Operation Center also known as NOC was established in 2004.  NOC is responsible for managing a wide range of telecommunications equipment, that cover nearly 14,000 km of fiber optic spanning across Peninsular Malaysia, 377 nodes of SDH equipments, 134 nodes of PDH equipments, 135 digital PABX equipments and 120 operations routers.  All these Telecommunication Infrastructures are located in 30 Power Stations, 421 High Voltage Substations, 29 Low Voltage Substations and 146 TNB offices across Peninsular Malaysia.  NOC provides continuous network monitoring and performance management services for all divisions in the TNB.

OBJECTIVE

The objective of this visit is to provide opportunity for engineers to be briefed by TNB on the major roles and responsibilities of NOC below:-
1.    Managing network resources to ensure TNB operation and business continuity for 24 x 7 x 365 days.
2.    Providing voice and data services through different notable Network Management System.
3.    Functioning as central liaison for telecommunication network activities such as Emergency Response Plan, Operations & Maintenance, Fault investigation & rectification by TNB personnel or vendors
4.    Providing centralized inventory management for TNB telecommunication network.
5.    Supporting TNB critical control centers to ensure services continuity throughout the year.
6.    Providing network technical support through 10 Regional Offices.
