Computer-Aided Design (CAD) Software are commonly used and it is a necessity in today’s Consultants offices often linking the common drawings to all related consultants in the same project. From the late 80’s till today, many Consultants continue to relate CAD software to drafting functions more than what it can specifically function for each specialised field of applications for better, faster, accurate, easier generation and management of the project drawings.

BIODATA OF SPEAKER

Mr. Arthur Gan completed his studies in Building Construction, Computer Programming & Database Management and began his career in the Building Industry working with a Consulting Firm in Melaka and on site in Genting. He started his Computer Graphics interests from 1980 when working in JKR Computer Centre and in 1985 he continued his work in Komputa Bina, a subsidiary of Hijjas Kasturi & Assosciates, working with mainframe ComputerVision CADDS4X producing working drawings for some of the largest projects in the country. In 1987 where we experienced the economic slowdown, he started promoting AutoCAD PC-CAD Workstations and CAD Training Courses which witnessed the success of many AutoCAD implementations with manpower skills enhancement and development today. To support AutoCAD users, he established the first AutoCAD User Group, registered with the North America Users Group and followed through the appointment of UTM as the first Authorised AutoCAD Training Center in Malaysia. From using Computer Vision Mainframe Graphics to AutoCAD PC-CAD Workstations, he started promoting IntelliCAD in late 1997 at one-tenth the investment costs and progressed to currently promoting BricsCAD with customers in almost every state in our country serving the large and small Consulting Firms in the related Building Industry where Computer Aided Drafting is the medium in delivering construction drawings. With the objectivity of delivering CAD software as a Design and Drafting tool irrespective of software brands, we are achieving the decreasing operating product cost, which combats the main issue of software piracy, to increased performance viability and the challenge towards increased CAD productivity through Specific-Industry Design vertical applications. He now endeavours towards equipping every Malaysian with affordable Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software and customized applications to enhance their design and drafting skills to be more Collaborative and Competitive in today’s global economy and revolutionary age!
