SYNOPSIS

This one-day course aims to provide a fundamental understanding of PLC application in Building Services and Manufacturing Services. It covers the popular automation applications like lift control system, parking system, automatic storage & retrieval system, data acquisition and robotics. In addition, the course will also include hands-on training on PLC ladder programming and basic electrical wiring training.

BIODATA OF THE SPEAKER

Ir.  Dr.  Tan  Chee Fai is a practising mechanical consultant, researcher and academician. He is graduated with Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) and M. Sc. (Manufacturing  Systems  Engineering) from Universiti  Putra  Malaysia  (UPM),  as  well  as  PhD in Industrial Design Engineering from Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), the Netherlands.  He  is  a  registered Professional Engineer (Mechanical) with Board of  Engineers,  Malaysia  (2006)  and  a member of Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (2005). He actively involved in academic, publication,  consultation  as  well as research, design and development  activities.  His  field  of  expertise covers the aspects of mechanical engineering, industrial design engineering, artificial intelligence, transportation engineering, industrial automation and human-technology interaction design. He has lead numbers of university and Malaysia Government funded projects as well as international funded projects. He has published more than  100  publications in international and local journals and conference proceedings that related  to mechanical engineering. He is actively  involved  in  Institution of Engineers, Malaysia since 1998, where he is the member of various committees such as Executive Committee Member, Council Member, Hon. Sec./Treasurer  of  METD, G&S, etc. within IEM  HQ and current Vice Chairman of IEM Melaka Branch.

Mr Danny Lim Thiam Lai has more than 20 years of experience in electrical control systems. He is the founder of Intellogic Technology Sdn. Bhd. and Intellogic System Sdn. Bhd. A leading group of companies actively involved in advance control technology. Currently, he also the authorised trainer in some leading universities and colleges in Malaysia. He is graduate with Bachelor of Applied Science (Hons) in 1990 and MSc (Industrial & Manufacturing) in 2004. He has vast experience in design and construction of advance control systems both for buildings and manufacturing industries. Prior to his set up of Intellogic Technology, he was the senior engineer for Fujitsu Microelectronics (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. and was trained in Fujitsu Japan for more than a year on all aspects of advance control technology.
