SYNOPSIS

Expert Witnesses are often required to give opinion evidence in court and arbitration, and especially in construction related disputes.  The talk will deal with the duties and responsibilities of the Expert Witness, his qualifications and credibility, and challenges to his evidence.

BIODATA OF SPEAKER

Ir. Dr. Wong Fook Keong is a Professional and Chartered Civil Engineer and has been in geotechnical, civil and structural engineering consultancy practice in Malaysia and overseas for over 30 years.  He has academic qualifications in arbitration and law, with a Post-Graduate Diploma in Arbitration and two LLM degrees in Commercial and International Law. He is a Chartered Arbitrator and is on the KLRCA panel of Arbitrators, Adjudicators and Mediators.  He is also a BEM Accredited Checker on Geotechnical Works. He has often been called to give expert opinion evidence on engineering and construction related disputes in litigation and arbitration cases.
