SYNOPSIS
National Hydrographic Center History begins with the collection of data - bathymetric data or modern measurement in Malaysia started in 1868 by the British Navy Hydrographic Service (PHTLDB) to publish a chart - British Admiralty nautical charts. In 1964, the British government has decided to carry out all its assets and platform hydrographic and assigns responsibility for hydrographic surveying the territory to the Malaysian government after the Malaysian government is confident with the ability to perform activities - hydrographic activities without their intervention.
Responsibility for carrying out activities - hydrographic surveying activities was given to Navy Hydrographic Office (CHTLDM). These results were obtained from the results of the Cabinet, 1972. Therefore, CHTLDM is the agency that represents the government in addressing global issues such as the issue over - technical issues of maritime delimitation.
On 15 April 2003, a new building was constructed for CHTLDM in Pulau Indah, Klang, Selangor and completed on October 14, 2005. Known as the National Hydrographic Center (NHC), infrastructure and building new infrastructure that has been established has been costing RM96.5 million and fully operational with a membership of 31 officers and 71 members - others rank together 3 general workers.
