SYNOPSIS
Talk 1: Smart Meter and Advanced Metering Infrastructure By : Ir. Noor Saleha Selamat Head Of Metering Training Unit, TNB ILSAS
Smart meters are electric-powered reading meters that allow daily electricity consumption to be recorded and converted into data which can be monitored by consumers. Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) plans to install the advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) or smart meters in 8.3 million households across the country by 2021. TNB rolled out first phase of its AMI implementation to customers in Malacca and will expand it to Klang Valley in August 2019. TNB Integrated Learning Solution Sdn Bhd or known as ILSAS is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tenaga Nasional Berhad supports this AMI implementation by providing end to end service for AMI training & consultancy for TNB Staffs and Smart Meter Installers. This talk focuses on enhancing the awareness of smart meter and advanced metering infrastructure installation since Malaysia is still in early stage of adopting this new technology. Features and challenges of smart meter implementation will be shared for better understanding about smart meter in Malaysia.
Talk 2: Future Proofing Approaches in Engineering Management By : Mr. David Anthony Jones Managing Director Asia Pacific for Chartered Management Institute (CMI)

Engineering management is becoming unquestionably more complex. Hence, what skills are required to ensure this important role is future proofed while meeting demanding deadlines with greater efficiency? What are the challenges and what will it take to succeed?
SPEAKERS BIODATA
1) Ir. Noor Saleha Selamat
Noor Saleha (Bach of Elect Eng) is the Head of Metering Training Unit in ILSAS. She has been certified as a trainer in Train of Trainer (TOT) from ILSAS and achieved multiple certifications from various training organizations. She is a trainer for Metering Training and in on various topics in Underground Cable Up to 33kV.
Besides a trainer, she is also responsible in conducting numerous consultancy jobs which successfully delivered in the area of developing competency framework for TNB Divisions and Subsidiaries. National Occupational Safety Standard for Chargeman and Cable Jointer Program was approved by Department of Skills Department, Malaysia where she was one of the committee for ILSAS.
She graduated in B. Electrical, Electronic and System Engineering from UKM. She has gained vast experienced in planning and project supply application for 3 years specifically in TNB Distribution Muar, Johor. Nearly one year experienced in purchasing Cable and accessories in Material Management Department, TNB Jalan Timur. Among other roles that have been empowered to him are ISO Lead Auditor, AKP assessor and SEMS auditor. She is a Professional Engineer and a Corporate Member of the Institution of Engineers, Malaysia.
2) Mr. David Anthony Jones
David is Managing Director APAC for the Chartered Management Institute responsible for developing and managing all CMI partners and interfaces across the Asia Pacific region. Until joining CMI, David was engaged for most of his career working within the aviation and aerospace engineering sector most recently as General Manager of a new Swiss based start-up. He has ran an independent consultancy focused on business planning and market development supporting governments, financial institutions as well as SME’s.
He also held the position of VP Sales Asia-Pacific for a multi-national corporation and worked for ten years with Rolls-Royce more latterly as their Regional Director having previously led their aftermarket development and prior to that managing their customer relationships in SE Asia. David spent 19 years employed in the engineering field by two international airlines including British Airways.
David has held a number of committee positions including Chairman of the European Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Malaysia, Treasurer of the Malaysian Aerospace Industry Association, a Board Member of Malaysian government body Pemudah. He has lived in Malaysia for more than 28 years where he is married with three grown children. David holds an MBA, an Honours Degree in Aeronautical Engineering, is a Companion of the Chartered Institute of Management and Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
