SYNOPSIS

Sewage sludge is a byproduct of treated wastewater. It is composed of both organic and inorganic materials, a large concentration of organic chemicals, as well as pathogens. Therefore, it is extremely important to control the sludge waste from the beginning. It involves various stages of controlling until it reaches the packing stage before it is disposed accord-ing to regulations. Thus it will minimize the environmental repercussions.

In this talk audients will be introduced various technology of sludge collec-tions system which involves material handling technology starts from deal-ing with the dewatered sludge, or called biosolids which is the residual of wastewater treatment plant after cleaning the water. There are few equipments used in the sludge control i.e.  shaftless or shaft screw con-veyor, Piston pump technologies to move the material, and Sliding frame, Rotary discharger and Live bottom silo technologies to storage and dis-charge.


SPEAKER BIODATA

Mr. Jerry Yu graduated in 1995 from Dongbei University of Finance and Economic, with BEc in Construciton Engineering Budget. In 1998, start to work in Dewatered sludge handling field,  now as the VP of SDMC America Technology Inc.. He had applied Sludge Handling System in more than 70 wastewater plants both in China and US for Municipalities, some with his patented technology. He has an extensive experience in areas of design, construction, project management, contract administration and plant commission of Sludge Handling projects in WTP which size from 20,000 ton/day to 12MM ton/day.
