BACKGROUND

Interest in Science and Mathematics education should be inculcated from young. Moreover, the National aspiration on STEM education has yet to achieve the goals set to increase the numbers of human resources in STEM fields and the achievement level of STEM education. IEM-WE had organized and collaborated with other organizations and education institutions in several past successful STEM-related events in and out of Kuala Lumpur, such as at Orang Asli village, schools and big shopping malls. This September, IEM-WE will be taking another step in making an impact to the society. This time the targeted children are from special needs category, which is inclusive of urban poor children from around Kuala Lumpur and Selangor. This program intends to provide a platform for IEM members to bring joy to the special needs children, whilst sharing their STEM knowledge with them and to inspire these group of children that learning is fun. As such, IEM-WE Section would like to invite members who are keen on charitable work to participate in the program. Members (and more so to members who are unable to contribute their time to participate in this program) are also welcome to make contributions in cash or in-kind, such as toys, books, board games, big cushions and floor mats.

Let’s bring hope to the special needs children and inspire them to make a change for a better future.

NOTE

 The program is not limited to IEM members only but registration will be required.  
 Interested participants are to register by returning the appended registration form
    via fax or e-mail (by 23 August 2019) to the secretariat: huzaimah@iem.org.my
 Donations and contributions must reach the secretariat,
    latest by the same date as registration due date (23 August 2019)
