SYNOPSIS
Waste Management has becoming more complex to manage with the recent tight regulation imposed by the government. Kementrian Perumahan dan Kerajaan Tempatan through Solidwaste Corp has appointed 3 main concessionaires particularly Alam Flora, E-Idaman and Southern Waste Management to spear head the Waste Management program in Malaysia.
Smart Waste Management system is introduced around the world. With the recent introduction of Industrial Revolution 4.0 in Malaysia, waste management system can be integrated together to provide a more efficient waste handling. Underground bins, vacuum system, high compaction system, Spiral Waste bin are the modern way of waste storage system. Waste can be transferred into modern waste transportation vehicles which comprises of Single Piece Rear End Loader, Hooklift system and special designed trailers to landfill. By incorporating sensors into the waste system, these data’s can be shared through cloud computing making operation planning efficient and reduce CO2 emission
SPEAKER BIODATA
Maj (Rtd) Ir Alex Chew, a Graduate Mechanical Engineer, is a Registered Professional Engineer with Practicing Certificate, Board of Engineers Malaysia, a Corporate Member of The Institution of Engineers Malaysia. He is also a License Aircraft Engineer (LAE) with more than 10 years in Aviation industry. Upon his retirement with the RMAF, he has been appointed as the Managing Director of APLUS MANUFACTURING SDN BHD since 2016.
He has more than 6 years of practical industrial experiences in designing and developing waste management system solutions. To date, he has developed smart waste solutions to integrate with the recent technology of Industrial Revolution 4.0 and these systems have been implemented locally.
