SYNOPSIS
Building Information Modelling (BIM) is the current Buzzword amongst the Malaysian Architecture, Engineering & Construction (AEC) Professionals and Project Managers since the government announcement that public projects awarded from 2019 onwards exceeding MYR 100 million are required to adopt BIM in the contracts. Whereas currently many design professionals ie, architects and engineers are familiar in the use of BIM in design, many construction project managers in the client and contractor organizations are not familiar in the usage of BIM in the construction lifecycle particularly at the project initiation and construction management phase.
