SYNOPSIS

Building Information Modelling (BIM) is the current Buzzword amongst the Malaysian Architecture, Engineering & Construction (AEC) Professionals and Project Managers since the government announcement that public projects awarded from 2019 onwards exceeding MYR 100 million are required to adopt BIM in the contracts. Whereas currently many design professionals ie, architects and engineers are familiar in the use of BIM in design, many construction project managers in the client and contractor organizations are not familiar in the usage of BIM in the construction lifecycle particularly at the project initiation and construction management phase. This talk explores the need for construction project managers to be familiar and able to manage the BIM process across the project lifecycle while collaborating with the design professionals. The talk covers the following modules,

1)    BIM Management and Coordination across project lifecycle
2)    BIM Execution Plan
3)    Clash Detection and Analysis
4)    BIM Project Implementation during Construction Phase
5)    BIM Case Study for Building and Infra Projects
6)    BIM Value and Benefits
7)    BIM Training for Certified BIM Construction Project Manager

The Talk will be delivered by Ar. Eric CL Gan representing the Association of Construction Project Managers Malaysia (ACCPM) together with a BIM Expert from Bina Initiatives Sdn Bhd.
