Synopsis
Hydraulic and Instrumentation Laboratory of NAHRIM (MHI) was established to conduct basic and applied research and development (R&D) in physical modelling, covering various hydraulic engineering fields. The laboratory also provides expert services in physical modelling on top of managing, coordinating and maintaining the equipment’s and instrumentations.
Started its full operation in 2007, the Hydraulic Laboratory of NAHRIM has a total working area of 12,000 square meters with state of the art facilities for research in hydraulic physical modelling. This includes 2 wave basins equipped with Multi Element Random Wavemakers with active wave absorption, a 100m long Multi-Functional Wave and Flow Flume (equipped with wave absorbing paddles to minimise wave reflections within the flumes), 2 Dimensional flume and a tilting flume. The laboratory also provides hydraulic structure and river floodplain modelling area, facilities for tsunami generation, testing of complex and non-standard structures, hydraulic product testing, etc. The laboratory was ISO 9001:2008 certified in the field of Physical Modelling Management in Hydraulic Engineering since 2012.
Note: The visit is strictly limited to only thirty (30) participants registered on a first come first pay basis.
