SYNOPSIS

Industrial digitalisation is a gateway for the Industry Revolution 4.0. (IR4.0). First step for any industry to adapt IR 4.0 is to understand the overall strategy on industrial digitalisation. Each of the industry will have different digitalisation approach and strategy due to the unique process, standard and requirement. It is very critical and important to understand the overall digitalisation industry ecosystem & to have awareness on digitalisation methodology & available Technology. More than half of the topics by the speakers shall be sharing on success stories, Use Case, directive strategy and Prove of Concept of industrial digitalisation implemented in respective organization and industry.


OBJECTIVES
 To introduce and explain the importance of digital transformation in the industry level.
 To give insight to IEM / IET members and public on government direction and future
    policy concerning digital transformation in industry.
 To provide an overview on the progress and implementation of “Industrial Digitalisation”
    players in each of industry – Oil & Gas, Power Energy, Communication, Manufacturing.
 To explore forefront idea/initiatives of industrial digitalisation that could
    bring high impact in the Industry.


ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

1) Dato’ Ng Wan Peng

Dato’ Ng Wan Peng  is the COO of Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC). MDEC is a government-owned agency to pioneer the transformation of Malaysia’s digital economy, responsible for the development, coordination, and promotion of Malaysia’s digital economy, information and communications technology (ICT) industry, and the extensive use of ICT in Malaysia. Dato’ Ng Wan Peng is no stranger to anyone involved in the ICT business in Malaysia. She has been a core and pioneer member of MDEC initiatives. She joined MDEC (previously known as Multimedia Development Corporation) in 1999. Today, as the COO, she is responsible for strategic execution of MDEC’s initiatives to support digital economy, including:
     1. Attracting investors, globalising local tech champions;
     2. Catalysing industry-driven digital ecosystem;
     3. Building critical enablers of the digital economy, and
     4. Driving inclusive adoption of technology.

2) Ir. Johnson Tan

Ir. Johnson Tan, aged 44, a Malaysian, is currently the Vice President of Process Automation Business Unit; Siemens Malaysia Sdn Bhd. He graduated with multi discipline in engineering; from Electronics & Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, as well as Electronics & Control Engineering. Upon graduation in 1997, he joined Energy & Process Control Sdn. Bhd. as a Project Engineer responsible for DCS /SCADA programming for a period of 6 years, till finally departing as System Sales Manager. Following suit, Ir. Johnson Tan has joined Siemens Malaysia Sdn Bhd as Assistant Sales Manager while he is now the Vice President for Process Automation Business Unit in the company. He has more than 20 years of working experience in the field of automation systems; involving Distributed Control Systems (DCS) programming, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system programming, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) programming, system training, project engineering, project management, site commission works.

3) Ir. Pershanta Kumar

Ir. Pershanta Kumar, aged 34 is currently a Senior Engineer (Asset Information), Asset Management Strategy Design & Standard at TNB Distribution Network. He has over 11 years working experiences and engaged with TNB for almost 9 years (until present). He has a Bachelor’s in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from University of Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN). His is on focused to apply a disruptive technologies that bring innovation and transformation to TNB Distribution Network.

4) Izwan Hasli Mohd Ibrahim

Izwan Hasli Mohd Ibrahim is the Chief Operating Officer of PETRONAS ICT Sdn. Bhd; a position he assumed in 2013, and Chief Executive Officer of Virtus IP Sdn. Bhd. Both companies are wholly-owned by Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS). An engineer by training, Izwan holds an M.Sc. in Information Technology and a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering; both from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, New York. Izwan’s foray into the oil & gas industry started in 2001 when he joined PETRONAS Carigali. Since then, he has been with several companies within the PETRONAS Group. In this span of 17 years, Izwan has covered roles involving Strategy, Commercial, Project Management, Systems Development, Technical Support, Client Relationship, Business Development and Management. Besides work, Izwan is passionate about Education.

5) Diego Betancur

Diego Betancur, is currently ICS/SCADA Security Engineer for APAC Region at NOZOMI Networks. He is currently based in Sydney, Australia. He has over 12 years of Cybersecurity experience. He has a master’s degree from Macquarie University (Australia) in IT Cybersecurity and a postgraduate in Business from IE Business School (Spain). He has undertaken large number of security projects including Penetration Testing, Risk Assessments, Incident Response and Maturity Assessments. He is expert in understanding OT protocols work, their weaknesses and people behaviour to pose risk to organisations due to the cybersecurity threat.
