SYNOPSIS
“High Impact Journal writing and Publishing workshop” purpose to trained, groom and encourage student and staff to publish their research finding in high impact Journals. Nowadays its compulsory for students to publish in high impact journal to Graduate Master or PhD degree and for Staff to fulfil KPI and get promotion or perish. This journal writing and publishing workshop will also provide opportunities to the research officers, science officers, and graduate students to gather and exchange ideas to improve their own writings for publication in high impact journals and to contribute to the improvement of their KPI’s. All Universities, Institutions and Research centres having pressure to publish High Impact Journal papers to Increasing their international visibility through research publications and to meet the KPI.
OBJECTIVE
This workshop is one of the efforts to encourage and assist researchers, staff and students attached with “The Institution of Engineers Malaysia” and outside it to publish their research work in High Impact Journals.
AIM
The aim of the workshops is to mentor participants in preparing their research findings for publication in an international journal. Workshop will deals about using Scopus and Science direct to evaluate Journals, Authors and Collaborators; Explain about writing good article step by step and how to publish it. Workshop will also covers How to build up article before submission, submission process, Reply to reviewer comments and proof Reading. By the end of this workshop, all participants will be expected to bring their manuscript to discuss how to improve it and submitted an article for publication to an international peer-reviewed journal in their area of research.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Dr. MOHAMMAD JAWAID
Mohammad Jawaid is currently working as Fellow Researcher (Associate Professor), at Biocomposite Technology Laboratory, Institute of Tropical Forestry and Forest Products (INTROP), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Serdang, Selangor, Malaysia and also Research Associate to Aerospace Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC), Faculty of Engineering, UPM. He is visiting Professor at Department of Chemical Engineering, College of Engineering, King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia since June 2013.
He is also Visiting Scholar to TEMAG Labs, Department of Textile Engineering, Istanbul Technical University, Istanbul, Turkey. Previously he worked as Visiting Lecturer, Faculty of Chemical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and also worked as Expatriate Lecturer under UNDP project with Ministry of Education of Ethiopia at Adama University, Ethiopia. He received his Ph.D. from Universiti Sains Malaysia, Malaysia. He has more than 10 years of experience in teaching, research, and industries. His area of research interests includes Hybrid Reinforced/Filled Polymer Composites, Advance Materials: Graphene/Nanoclay/Fire Retardant, Lignocellulosic Reinforced/Filled Polymer Composites, Modification and Treatment of Lignocellulosic Fibres and Solid Wood, Nano Composites and Nanocellulose fibres, Polymer blends.
Recently he received Newton-Ungku Omar Fund (5.3 Million RM) as Malaysian leader with UK Partners. So far he has published 13 book, 29 book chapters, and more than 170 International journal papers and 4 Published review paper under Top 25 hot articles in science direct during 2014-2016. He is also the Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Malaysian Polymer Journal and Guest Editor for Current Organic Synthesis, Current Analytical Chemistry, and International Journal of Polymer Science. He is reviewer of several high impact ISI journals (49 Journals). His H-index 23 (Scopus); 29 (Google Scholar).
