SYNOPSIS

Session 1 : Leveraging on IEC Standards to Achieve Energy Efficiency > By Mr Wilson Ong

Governments alliance with Kyoto Protocol has set ambitious carbon reduction targets to tackle the worsening climate change issues today. This is a very important factor that drives Energy Efficiency. It is a fact that unless both existing and new buildings are made efficient, it is simply impossible to reach the targets set.

The speaker seeks to explain to the audience the IEC standards applicable to Energy Efficiency and other related standards which include Energy Management process, Power monitoring and measuring Devices, Monitoring and Measuring systems used for data collection, gathering and analysis.

Session 2 : Innovations that make the Buildings SMART > By Mr Wilson Ong

Buildings that aren’t connected are the same buildings they were decades ago. You cannot have a SMART building without the use of technology. The quick evolution of technology has made old technology obsolete faster than we think. But this also brings about many great opportunities to make the buildings SMART.

The speaker seeks to explain the characteristics and definitions of a SMART building. He will share some case studies to further demonstrate the importance to have SMART solutions to optimize your M&E systems by bringing down the operational and maintenance costs.

Session 3 : The Technical Insights of UPS > By Mr Wilson Ong

This topic seeks to explain on the needs of UPS to maintain business continuity, international standards applicable to UPS and how to evaluate UPS performance and availability”.

Session 4 : LV network architecture : How to increase the safety and reliability using transfer switching equipment > By Mr Jean-eudes Baly

Energy availability is becoming critical for most of the building and it is important to consider the best way to keep it always ON, from design phase to building operation.

One common solution to increase the availability of power is, to add some level of redundancy in the electrical installation, starting from the sources. While having several sources, a parameter of importance is their connection to the electrical installation
