SYNOPSIS

Green building construction is earning a place in Malaysia's construction industry. However, construction of green buildings still encounters impediments, as there is a lack of proper project management framework for such projects. Successfully managing the green building Certification process requires specific knowledge, tools and skills that are not usually covered in Green Building Tool reference manuals. The talk is designed for professionals who are familiar with the criteria outlined in the GBI Rating System, but who are looking to go beyond the basics to gain a deeper understanding of the unique processes involved with managing a green building project.

The talk will discuss how to conduct a green building workshop, troubleshoot potential setbacks and evaluate the cost to benefit ratio of various credits and design strategies. This talk also presents the tools and systems involved with tracking the specific responsibilities of each team member. The ultimate goal of the talk is to empower attendants with the knowledge, skills and tools necessary to successfully manage the green building Certification process from the beginning to the end.
