SYNOPSIS
Arc Fault incidences can occur anytime and anywhere as long as electricity is still the best choice for transferring energy. The severity of the consequences of arc flash incidents can be total damage to equipment and plant. The worst will be fatality of human lives. In this presentation, Ir. Lee will share with you the following:
• What is an Arc Flash • The consequences of an Arc Flash • Understanding Arc Flash • Arc Flash Hazard Safety Studies and Assessment methods • Is PPE enough • Various Protection methods to deal with Arc Flash • Arc Flash Protection available • Reduction in energy magnitudes with proper arc flash protection • Examples of arc protection implementation
This presentation is targeted to engineers who are not familiar with the danger when working with live electrical equipment. Understanding the risk of arc flash incidents and ways to mitigate this danger will help to minimize pain and sufferings.
