SYNOPSIS
MeTRA stands for “Malaysian Guidebook for Traffic & Road Safety Audit”. It will revolutionise road safety auditing by synergizing various road safety issues with specific methodology. It aims at providing all users with a systematic approach to evaluate road safety in simple and easy to follow steps. MeTRA is specifically designed for engineers, auditors and government authorities to assist in identifying road safety deficiencies. It is applicable to all operational roads in Malaysia. Users will be assigned to various issues in the form of questions pertaining to road safety. These questions will then be associated with the desired road specifications and standards that will allow users to compare and judge the safety of the road after completing the dedicated tasks such as site measurements and volume traffic counts. MeTRA covers road alignment, cross section, intersections, interchanges, bridges, tunnels, motorcycle infrastructure, public transport infrastructure, visual aids, roadside safety and road surface.
